3 weeks old!

I took Amelia to the Pediatrician today, to get her checked out. She has been having issues with gas, and her little belly gets all hard and she fusses and wiggles around in pain :(

Basically, the Ped said to cut a few things out of my diet and we'll see if it helps. She goes back next Wednesday for her 1 month checkup! She was 7 pounds, 9 ounces today!!

Some 3 week birthday shots:

Sleeping :)

I'm a little gassy right now...

Adventures in Amelia-land continue:

At 19 days old, she met her "Uncle" Mark and his wife, Cindy. Grandma Dona came back down for another visit, too.

At 20 days old, she went to her first church service, and met lots of people there. She also met a few of her mommy and daddy's friends: Carrie, Bobby and Kristen. She had her second visit to Trader Joe's (yum) -- I forgot to mention, during her first visit there last week, an employee gave her a beautiful bouquet of flowers :)

On her 3-week birthday, Grandpa Larry and Grandma Cathy came over for another visit.

Week 3

Amelia is still learning all the basics of sleeping and eating, but I think she's doing great :) She seems to be growing appropriately, but we won't really know that until her next pediatrician appointment at 1 month. She's still a tiny little peanut - wearing newborn sizes and absolutely swimming in things labeled 0-3 months.

Today we went on a big girl outing - away from home for about 5 hours! Amelia went to lunch with mommy and some of her book club friends. She was very good, only crying briefly when she was a bit hungry. Then we went shopping at Target and Babies-r-us. Finally, ending the trip by stopping into mommy's favorite cupcake shop. They proclaimed her "the cupcake baby" (due to my frequent visits during my pregnancy) and went ga-ga over her. :)

So what other adventures has Amelia been on - you may ask?

-- At the hospital, she was visited by three grandparents, "Aunt" Michelle and her husband Kevin, and other friends of mommy and daddy's - Scott, Mark Y., Erin and Josh.
-- At 3 days old, she had her first post-hospital outing, when we took her to the Pediatrician.
-- At 4 days old, she met more grandparents.
-- At 5 days old, she met two of her great-grandparents.
-- At 6 days old, she met her Uncle Jeff and Aunt Laura, along with 5 of her cousins.
-- At 10 and 11 days old, she went with mommy and grandma out to lunch and to the hair salon. Mommy got confused about which day the appointment was, hence this occuring two days in a row. :)
-- At 12 days old, she went with mommy and daddy on a brief spin around the local Arts Festival. She was all bundled up and slept the whole time.
-- At 13 days old she met "grandma" Melissa and Gabby and was a model in a photo shoot.
-- At two weeks old, she went to church for the first time to be approved for her baptism (June 22nd!)

And that sums up all the excitement that's occurred thus far. This weekend she will meet some more of her mommy and daddy's friends, as well as seeing a few grandparents again.

Sneak peek at our little model

Here's a teaser picture from Amelia's photo shoot. I'll share the rest when we get them! :)

Week 2

Amelia is doing very well. She sleeps in 2-4 hour stretches at night, and is in her own room now. She really bounced back from her weight loss, and seems to be quite healthy now. She's been on a few outings away from the house, and tolerates them about as well as you'd expect from a 2 week old :)

We can already see her growing up. She has great muscle control in her neck, and can lift her head up really well. We did her newborn photo shoot on Sunday, and will start sharing those pictures as we get them.
I had been growing my hair out, for ease of styling with a newborn around, but decided that it wasn't worth it if I hated every picture taken of me. So I got my mommy haircut!

Week 2 update

Mommy and Amelia went to the pediatrician yesterday and found that her weight bounced back to 6 pounds, 4.5 ounces! Yay! :)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from her first week. Hopefully this link will work!

Cuteness

These pictures are from her first day. I really need to pull some more off the camera on to my computer so I can give a better update! I promise more by Monday.

Amelia is doing very well, keeping us busy. She sleeps a lot, but prefers to be held, and wakes up more easily when not held. Her most wakeful time during the day is between 1am-6am, go figure. But we've had great help this week to take the morning holding shift (she's asleep by then), so Chris and I can get a few hours of sleep at around 6am.

She has a bit of a weight issue - went down from 6 lb 6 oz to 5 lb 9 oz. So we will be heading back to the pediatrician on Monday to get a weight check. Her eating has improved (and hence, her dirty diaper production), so I'm expecting a change for the better this time.

HAHA - eating my words!

Don't read the post below -- I was totally wrong!! :)

Bambino arrived today - she came into the world very quickly.

Amelia was born on May 5, 2008 at 4:44pm. 6 lbs. 6 oz. 18.75 inches long.

We haven't had the opportunity to take a ton of pictures, because she's been in the nursery while her temperature and blood sugars came up. But here's a great one of her below (not so hot one of me, but she's smiling!)

Week 39

Nothing much to update here. I'm in my supposed last week of pregnancy, but I doubt it. Not much is going on in there, and Bambino seems content to "cook" a while longer. We have an appointment on Thursday, where we're supposed to discuss our "options", but we'll see.

On a happier note, I got hooked up with a photographer that is looking to expand her newborn portfolio, and she will be practicing on Bambino! Yay - A professional photographer offering us no session fee and rights to all the images she takes! I'm so excited about that. Hope this baby comes out cute! :) http://ericapitcockphotography.com/

Hoping to have some more news for everyone this week, but I doubt it....

Ok, so I was kidding the other day....

I hated that last belly shot, so I had Chris take a couple today. My mom came to see her pregnant baby one more time, and took me out for lunch.

Update

Had an OB appointment today.

Bambino is still sealed up tight in there, with no indications that she is ready to come out. In fact, she showed a bit of sass by sticking her bottom out at the doctor, when she was trying to check her heartbeat. It was no surprise to me - she does that to Chris and I all the time. But it is amusing to see my belly all sloped like that. She's facing my right side, so her bottom will stick on on my left.

While I'm okay that she's not making any progress, I hope that something changes before we go back next week!
