Amelia is still learning all the basics of sleeping and eating, but I think she's doing great :) She seems to be growing appropriately, but we won't really know that until her next pediatrician appointment at 1 month. She's still a tiny little peanut - wearing newborn sizes and absolutely swimming in things labeled 0-3 months.
Today we went on a big girl outing - away from home for about 5 hours! Amelia went to lunch with mommy and some of her book club friends. She was very good, only crying briefly when she was a bit hungry. Then we went shopping at Target and Babies-r-us. Finally, ending the trip by stopping into mommy's favorite cupcake shop. They proclaimed her "the cupcake baby" (due to my frequent visits during my pregnancy) and went ga-ga over her. :)
So what other adventures has Amelia been on - you may ask?
-- At the hospital, she was visited by three grandparents, "Aunt" Michelle and her husband Kevin, and other friends of mommy and daddy's - Scott, Mark Y., Erin and Josh.
-- At 3 days old, she had her first post-hospital outing, when we took her to the Pediatrician.
-- At 4 days old, she met more grandparents.
-- At 5 days old, she met two of her great-grandparents.
-- At 6 days old, she met her Uncle Jeff and Aunt Laura, along with 5 of her cousins.
-- At 10 and 11 days old, she went with mommy and grandma out to lunch and to the hair salon. Mommy got confused about which day the appointment was, hence this occuring two days in a row. :)
-- At 12 days old, she went with mommy and daddy on a brief spin around the local Arts Festival. She was all bundled up and slept the whole time.
-- At 13 days old she met "grandma" Melissa and Gabby and was a model in a photo shoot.
-- At two weeks old, she went to church for the first time to be approved for her baptism (June 22nd!)
And that sums up all the excitement that's occurred thus far. This weekend she will meet some more of her mommy and daddy's friends, as well as seeing a few grandparents again.
