Weekend Fun! January 14-17

Friday 1/14

No post-work plans!

After dinner, Amelia worked on a project -- "arts and crafts", as she calls it.


My dad was coming for a weekend visit the next day, and she made him a pretty sign for his birthday. His birthday was actually a week later, but we were celebrating early.

It was very serious work!

Saturday 1/15

All dressed up to go to a birthday party for two of her favorite little guys!

The party was at a local play gym.

The party had a super-hero theme, and all of the kids were invited to make a special cape:

She was really into staring at the sweets - trying to use her powers to move them closer:

She had a great time!

And loved the cupcakes!

She wore that outfit around the house the rest of the day!

After a short nap, Amelia woke to find Grandpa at the house!

She immediately showed him the birthday cake I made him:

We had cake after dinner -- Amelia joined in to sing "Happy Birthday":

And clapped when Grandpa blew out his candles:

She really enjoyed the cake!

And was so proud to show Grandpa his birthday sign!

Sunday 1/16

All dressed up for church! She's doing "the robot" dance moves here...

We hung around the house after church and did not do much. Amelia got a kick out of seeing some old pictures of her Mommy:

Monday 1/17

It was a holiday for Mommy and Grandpa, so we kept Amelia home for a fun day!

We went to the mall to play at the Play Zone:

After a quick lunch, Grandpa went back home, and Amelia and I went back to our house for nap time.

She must have been worn out, because she did not wake until Daddy got home from work.

It was a really fun weekend!!

Weekend Fun! January 7-9

Friday 1/7

We went downtown for dinner and to walk around for a bit -- but wow, it was cold!

Saturday 1/8

We did not do much this day. In the morning, we just hung around the house.

We put away our Christmas stuff, but she did not help very much....



Next, we gave Amelia a nap, and finished up our work.

After her nap, we stayed home still and just spent time as a family.

Sunday 1/9

We went to church in the morning...


And then met Michelle and Kevin for lunch after.

We came home to another lazy day around the house

It was a very nice and quiet weekend.

Weekend Fun! December 30 - January 2

Thursday 12/30

After work, we went one more time to see the lights display at the zoo:

Friday 12/31

We all had the day off to enjoy together!

We started out the day going to a UK game-watch party:

Yay! We won!

We came home to give Amelia an afternoon nap, before our NYE plans.

We went out to a great dinner ....

... with a little pack of friends!

Amelia was a good girl at the restaurant, and really enjoyed everything. She kept everyone pretty well entertained, both friends and strangers.

We took her home for a slightly-late bedtime, and then watched the ball drop just the two of us.

Saturday 1/1

On the morning of New Year's Day, we took Amelia to her first theatre movie. She already had the doll and the horse from the movie "Tangled" (a re-telling of the Rapunzel story), so she was really excited to see the movie.

While I was getting my shoes on to go, Amelia stole my breakfast:

When we got to the theatre, of course I had to document the experience!

I grabbed a large popcorn -- a big event deserves a big treat! I was also pre-planning for her inevitably dropping it (which she did).

It was a great movie! Amelia was really into it, and had a great time.

After, we headed home for nap time and family time at the house.

Sunday 1/2

Chris wasn't feeling well, so we had a very low-key Sunday.

However, Amelia was getting a little bored hanging around the house for the better part of 2 days, so she and I went to grab some lunch.

Other than Chris feeling ill, it was a pretty nice weekend!
