Weekend Fun - June 3-5

Friday 6/3

We went over to Dayton to spend some time with my family, while my brother's family was in town from Texas.

On Friday night, we just had dinner at a local restaurant, and then came back to the house to play a bit before bedtime.

Amelia enjoyed climbing this tree with her cousin, Ethan:

Of course, she had to join in on Grandpa's trombone playing:

Saturday 6/4

Grandpa read Amelia and her new cousin Jeremiah a book, while the other adults got ready for the day:

Killing some time outside, before it was time to go:

Amelia enjoyed hanging out with her uncle Brent:

We went to lunch as a whole family:

And then everyone headed back to Dad's house for some play time.

Monica and Amelia thought it funny to hang out in Charlie's cage:

It was a nice afternoon, hanging out around the house, and we had a low-key evening, too.

Sunday 6/5

Amelia and Ethan played her Leapfrog game for a little bit before church:

Mommy and her brothers went out for breakfast, and Daddy did a great job at getting Amelia ready for church:

After church, Amelia took a little nap. Mommy and Daddy went to a movie together!

Later, we packed up the car and left Grandpa's house and went over to Uncle Jeff's house.

She got on her swimsuit, to play in the sprinkler:

She enjoyed some drinks and snacks:

And blowing some bubbles:

Then Monica dragged her into the sprinkler:

It didn't last long!!

The boys were doing what boys do when they hang out together:

We drove home and settled back into our house. It was a nice weekend, but also nice to be home!

Friday 5/27

In the evening, we had our church small group again.... Amelia and I had a great time! :)

Saturday 5/28

In the morning, Amelia and I ran around for some errands - grocery shopping and such.

Amelia picked out a new friend - a fishy named "Talian" (after what she calls Italy - where Daddy was):

When we got home, we got Talian all set up and she introduced him to a few of her ponies:

Amelia took a little nap, and when she woke up, we had visitors from Texas!!

This is my sister-in-law and two nephews... somehow I failed to get a picture of my brother:

My brother spent some time working on my crashed computer, and the rest of us went for a walk/ride around the block.

At first Amelia was left in the dust:

Then, Ethan let her catch up, and they did a little bumping back and forth:

And he let her take the lead for a while:

When we got back, there was the usual temptation to do the daredevil flying down the back hill in Amelia's car.

Ethan was so careful when it was Amelia's turn. He made sure she had her helmet on, and took her about halfway down, so she wouldn't gain too much speed.

Then, he would let go and run out in front of her, to make sure he could get her stopped before the alley.

An added bit of fun was to put an obstacle in her way (the tricycle), so he could have more reason to save the damsel in distress...

And they repeated this over and over...

Jeremiah wanted a turn!

Before they left, Ethan read Amelia a princess story:

They headed back to my Dad's house. Much later that night, Chris returned from Italy!!!

Sunday 5/29

The best part of this day was when Amelia woke up and saw her Daddy for the first time in 16 days. Her tiny little voice simply said "Daddy." :)

We came home for naps, and then it was time to get up to enjoy the Memorial Day parade.

Monday 5/30

Memorial Day!

In the morning, we did a little running around. We went to a big flea market that always happens on this day at a nearby town.

We went to First Watch for brunch after we were done:

It was a GREAT weekend with a nice visit from TX family and then family fun after Daddy came home!!!
