Week 20 & Weekend Fun - January 19-22

On Wednesday, the kids had a day off from the babysitter (or rather she took a day off from them!). Chris and I traded off time with the kids.

I took some of my time to take some nice pictures:

On Saturday, we went to see my family. My dad's birthday was Sunday, so we went to see him a day early.

We went out to lunch as a family. When we got back, Luca took a nap while the rest of us played a rousing game of dominos:

On Sunday, we got up and headed to church:

Amelia's wearing her dress-up dress that most closely resembles Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She and I had a girls' afternoon together and went to see it in the theater after church!

Dance Class!

Amelia started a dance class 3 weeks ago. It's a combo class - ballet, creative movement and gymnastics.

She is LOVING the class, and doing really well at it. Clearly she's learned something in preschool about being in a group setting and listening well to the teacher. She does really well in the class.

She's been showing us what she's learning -- plie's, toe points, side skipping and somersaults.

We ordered her recital costume last week. We were on the fence on whether she'd participate in the recital (the other kids have been in class together since September), but after watching her first 2 class sessions, we knew it was something she'd really enjoy doing.

Week 19 & Weekend Fun - January 12-15

Week 18 & Weekend Fun - January 5-8

We had a pretty low-key weekend. Nothing really terribly exciting went on. We spent a lot of time around the house, and then church on Sunday.

After church, we stopped into the local pottery painting studio and used a gift certificate I got for Christmas.

I painted the base coat, and then had Amelia decorate it. I also had her write her name in her handwriting, and then I painted over it so it would be on the final product.

Then it was Luca's turn:

Four Months Old!!

Luca is 4 Months Old!!

And such a happy little guy:

He had his 4-month checkup and immunizations:

He was 15 pounds, 5.5 ounces (75th percentile) and 25 inches long (50th percentile)!!

We had a good day out as a family, and then came home to play around the house.

Later, Chris installed our new fireplace cover (a Christmas gift!), lit up a fire, and sat in front of it with Luca:

Oh and Amelia was there too! :)

Oh and have I mentioned -- Luca has curly hair? It looks straight in pics, but when it's wet, it's certainly curly!!
