Week 22 & Weekend Fun - February 3-5

Luca's Week 22 picture!!

This week, Luca started blowing raspberries. He does it all the time now, and in addition to his teething drooling, is a rather damp little boy.

With Sister:

That night (Friday) we went downtown for dinner with some friends and then the annual "Chocolate Walk", where you walk around to area businesses and get a chocolate treat. We had a great night out, but unfortunately Luca finally came down with Amelia and Mommy's cold.

So Saturday was spent hanging around the house looking a bit like this:

We gave him lots of snuggles, naps and food, and that helped him progress towards getting better.

Even a bit sick, Amelia had to be a princess:

Luca spent the day in comfy clothes, and was in pretty high spirits:

Raspberries!!

On Sunday, Luca and I stayed home from church. I had gone to urgent care the previous day and gotten on some antibiotics, but he and I were still not feeling well.

But I did take some fun pictures while he was happy:

Since Amelia was getting over her cold and Luca and I were just getting started with it, it was a pretty low-key weekend. It was a nice opportunity to spend quiet time together.

Five Months Old!

Luca is 5 months old!!

His cheeks are so pink in that picture! That's a sure sign of teething, which he's been working on. No exposed teeth yet, but there's one that looks close!

No pediatrician check-up this month, but on our home scale, he's a little over 17 pounds! Such a BIG boy! We'll get more official stats in a few weeks, at his 6 month appointment.

Luca has been growing fast. He blows raspberries (as of the first week of February), and babbles a lot. He LOVES his sister and she loves him so much in return. Luca and Daddy have special morning times together, when he gets up early while Daddy is getting ready for work. Luca and I have our own special bond, too. We snuggle on and off all day long, and I hold him as he goes to sleep every night.

We enjoy every day with our little guy!

Week 21 & Weekend Fun - January 27-29

You can see that he looks like he's missing an arm. That is because he kept shoving his hands in his mouth, so I kept tucking them away.

This picture was taken right after Luca rolled from back to belly for the first time (on purpose)! (1/27)

Ugh - it's a lot of work for a little baby.

The following day, he rolled from belly to back for the first time, too! He's been rolling daily ever since!

On Saturday, we decided to take Amelia ice skating for the first time.

Luca was totally enthusiastic about it all:

Sundays mornings are pretty chaotic at our house. With different commitments at church and Luca wanting a mid-morning nap, we don't tend to all go out the door at the same time.

So we're not getting too many sibling church shots these days. But here's Amelia!

It started snowing, and Amelia asked if she could go outside. I said "sure, just a few minutes, stay on the patio".

I looked out a moment later, and saw her coat-free:

I guess she was just too excited to stop and put it on!

She grabbed her coat and went back out to run around in the freshly-falling snow:

It was a nice, low-key weekend!
