Thursday 12/2

Ready to head out on a little adventure...

Working on painting some Christmas gifts:

She did a really great job and the recipients loved them!

Friday 12/3

Dinner out at our favorite Mexican joint:

Walking around downtown for the Christmas festivities:

Momentarily distracted by some coloring:

Telling Santa that she wants candy for Christmas!

Working on a craft at a gallery:

Waiting for the tree-lighting -- "ice skating" with some other kids:

Watching the tree-lighting with Daddy:

We went into the bike shop so Dad could drool over some stuff, and Amelia picked out the bike and helmet she wants:

Saturday 12/4

All dressed up to go out to run some errands with Daddy:

Distracted from grocery shopping for just a minute:

While Amelia was napping, Chris and I decorated the outside of the house:

Showing our work off to Amelia:

She loved it!!

Then, she helped us decorate the inside of the house:

Sunday 12/5

All dressed for church!

Our church had a little fundraiser afterward, to send a monetary Christmas gift to a charity in the Dominican Republic.

Amelia made a craft to go with the gift:

And hung out with some other little girls coloring:

Later, she was so excited to see that it was snowing!!

Amelia and Mommy went to Walmart to grab some Christmas stuff.

Amelia got a kick out of these dolls and the noises and movement they made:

It was a great weekend!

I'm behind.....

Sorry, I am dreadfully behind on the blog right now. I've just been a busy little bee getting stuff together for Christmas.

What does this little blogger want? I just put a bug in Chris's ear that I want a gift card to this place: http://www.blurb.com/ so I can turn my blog into a book to keep.

I promise to work on getting caught up very soon!

Thanksgiving Weekend Fun! November 24-28

Wednesday 11/24

All set for the trip to see family in PA for Thanksgiving!

Zoned out immediately, watching Cinderella on her DVD player:

Apple snack time!

And some coloring:

Making a silly face, all happy with her lollipop:

For the most part, it was a really easy trip. Amelia was newly facing foward in the car, and loved all of the attention. She stayed busy watching her movies, reading books, coloring, playing with her little buddies, and ordering us around.

But we made it safely!

She was so happy to be there (we all were).... and she was immediately doted upon by family.

Getting a book read by Grandpa Tom and Grandma Linda:

Thursday 11/25

Pancake breakfast, fit for a princess:

All dressed up, ready for the family Thanksgiving gathering:

But first we stopped by the Chris's maternal grandparents' house, for a couple of hours with them.

Coloring with Great-Grandma Edna:

Playing with their marble collection:

A quick pic with Mama!

Playing with Grandpa Bob in his room - maybe doing some bird watching?

Then we headed over to Chris's father's family gathering.

Turkey dinner with her cousins:

She really chowed down!

She loved the stairs there, as you can see:

And quickly adapted to the hunting history in this family:

It was a great day - a nice family gathering.

Friday 11/26

All dressed and ready for a day out with the family!

This is what I get if I take one too many pictures:

To the market we go!

Enjoying lunch with Great-Grandma June:

Later, she opened her Christmas presents from Grandpa Tom, Grandma Linda and Great-Grandma June. They won't see her closer to Christmas, so this was their chance to see her enjoy them.

Digging in:

Loving her new princess sing-along CD player:

Diving in to another one:

Playing Mama to a little Pony friend:

It's funny -- though that is supposed to be like a little baby, she makes it very clear that it is a pony, NOT a baby! :)

Cuddling up to a beautiful new homemade blanket from Great-Grandma:

Saturday 11/27

Playing with Grandpa Tom:

We went over to Amelia's Great-Great-Grandma's house to take a few pics before Chris's dad and step-mom headed back to Michigan.

Playing on Great-Great Grandma's piano:

Chattting with Great-Grandma and Great-Great Grandma (she's 101!):

5 Generations!

Next, we headed back over to see Great-Grandma Edna and Great-Grandpa Bob. We all did some running-around together, since it was a nice day.

Lunch at a beautiful market and greenhouse:

Posing in front of some nice greenery:

And - as a complete surprise to all of us - Santa showed up!

Remembering last year's Santa horrors, we were a bit worried, but bribed her with the promise of a big lollipop in Santa's basket:

Success!!

After taking Grandma and Grandpa around for a few errands, we headed back to their house, so Amelia could take a nap.

After her nap, and a nice dinner out, we came back for some ice cream!

It was a nice day with family!

Sunday 11/28

It was time to head back home, after a great long 5-day weekend with family.

Saying goodbye to Grandma June:

A stop in to see Grandma Edna and Grandpa Bob before we hit the road meant that Amelia got another ice cream snack.

Ice cream just after breakfast? Sure, when there's a Grandma around to spoil you! :)

And back in the car, with a movie on, a snack, and a pony on her lap:

And we made it home happy and safe!
