When your kid is over 12 months old, the #1 question people have for you is "is she walking yet?" The answer is a big fat NO! Amelia is the best crawler out there. Super speedy, with several variations to fit her needs at that moment. All fours for when she just is on a mission. On one knee, scooting with her other leg, with a toy or treat in each hand that she just can't put down. Etc...
We say that it's 50% will and 50% confidence. She doesn't see the point in walking yet and is super stubborn about trying. And she's just not confident enough that her legs can hold her up, which they can! She has all the strength and skill - she just doesn't want to walk.
Our new Sitter has been great with this, reinforcing the practicing that we have been doing with her every day. It's not that we want to have to chase her all the time, but more that we know that things will be more fun in other ways when she can walk. For example, our trip to the beach would be nicer if she can run along the shore, feeling the waves hit her feet.
Here's a video of some practicing this weekend. She must have been in a patient mood!

Judging by the video it looks like she is soooo close.
Ruby tricked herself into walking. She thought she was holding my hand but it was a water bottle and she just took off across the room. lol
