Weekend Fun - Part 2

Friday -- over with my family in Dayton

Playing on Grandma's piano:

Playing Grandpa's little plastic flute-thing:

Flute band with cousin Ethan!

Wearing some of Grandma's pretty scarves:

I actually knitted them for my mom a few years ago, and thought they would be a good thing to have now, for a "dress up" box for Amelia.

We spent the day at the house, going through some of my mom's things, and Amelia played with family. That evening, we went to an indoor pool, to celebrate her cousin Stephen's 11th birthday.

Amelia testing out the water:

Checking out all the fun pipes and squirting water:

Making the water respond to her command:

After we got out of the water and Chris had her all dried off, she tried to run back in, but he caught her!

We went to Wendy's after for some dinner and I forgot that there was a birthday cake in my brother's car, so I was sharing a frosty with Amelia. She was not too excited about that frosty!

She really likes her little kitty toy that came with her meal:

I think she was telling a story or something here:

Happy Birthday, Stephen!!

Weekend Fun - Part 1

HAPPY THANKSGIVING from the Bambino!!

We hosted 14 people, in addition to the 3 of us, at our home for Thanksgiving this year. My dad, 2 grandparents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters-in-law, 4 nephews and 3 nieces.

It was chaotic, but full of fun and yumminess!

A few of the guys + Amelia watching football:

Auntie Mer giving Amelia a post-nap hairdo:

Too much squirming... gotta restrain this girl for her hair appointment!

Marching around - showing off Meredith's work:

Amelia didn't really get a lot of the Thanksgiving dinner. She took an early nap and woke up about 2 hours before the big meal. She stayed busy, snacking on cheese, carrots and dip. So she wasn't all that hungry when the meal came!

We got a little tree to put ornaments on to memorialize my mom - that my dad can plant after the holidays. It still needs work, but here it is so far:

Amelia and Monica cozy together watching Dora:

A "diaper incident" made for a change from her leggings to these cute leg warmers:

Everyone got their fill of turkey, ham, and the fixings. The kids played together and the adults socialized. Everyone pitched in for the cooking and cleaning. It was a really nice day.

But after everyone left.... Amelia was SO tired that she just zoned out in her bean bag and watched tv:

Terrific Thursday!!

Enjoying an ice cream cone:

Where's Amelia??

There she is!!!

Watching TV with Penny:

She likes Hoosiers, like Daddy:

This is Amelia and Chris's newest game... during bathtime, they yell "AHHHHH!":

And then say quietly "Oooooh":

And then back to the "AAAAAHHH" -- going back and forth until they finally feel like they got enough out. :)

Weekend Fun - Part 2

Sunday...

After church, there was a spaghetti dinner. Here's a (phone) pic of Amelia enjoying her spaghetti:

And then in the afternoon, there was a Christmas parade just down the street from our house! I woke Amelia up a little early from her nap, bundled her up, and we walked down to enjoy the parade.

We started with some healthy snacks....

But ended with some candy:

Later, I went to pick up Uncle Brent, Auntie Meredith and cousin Ethan from the airport. Chris sent me this (camera) pic of Amelia coloring at her new little table while I was gone:

And when we got back, the cousins played together for a little bit, before bedtime:

The next morning, there was much more playing as well!

Auntie Mer wore Amelia around for a bit:

And Uncle Brent had to rescue Amelia's big ball from a tree:

Amelia laughed hysterically when it came down and Ethan chased after it:

And then she spent some time playing with the leftover dandelions:

And ran after and kicked the ball:

Later, Auntie Mer kept playing with Amelia's hair.

First, we had the symmetrical clippies-all-over look:

And later, there was the pigtail look that she wore the rest of the day. It was so darn cute!

We really enjoyed our brief visit with them, and will see them again later this week and again next Monday when they fly back out!

Weekend Fun - Part 1

On Thursday night, we went to the zoo members' night to preview the "Wildlights" (Christmas lights throughout the zoo).

Amelia was not thrilled at first to be bundled up and tossed in her stroller, despite the fun glow-necklaces that they were giving out:

And then we got her (and Chris) a Bob Evans "buck-a-brat" and she ate about 80% of that bratwurst! Wow!

YUM!

We got (free!) hot chocolate and cookies and checked out all of the Christmas lights.

Then, Amelia rode the carousel for the first time since her birthday (and she liked it this time!):

We had a really good time that night.

[We forgot the camera that night, so those pictures were taken on Chris's cell phone.]

On Friday, we didn't do much of anything!

On Saturday, Amelia and I got decked out in our Buckeye-best and we went to our friend, Gabby's 8th birthday party!

A picture of her outfit before we left (taken on my phone for Daddy):

And then after we came back....

Amelia playing around the house:

Giving Brutus a congratulatory hug for winning the game:

Hiding in her (empty) toy holder:

We had friends over for a "practice" Thanksgiving dinner. It was a good night!
