Wednesday 6/8
On this day, we drove up to Michigan, to where Chris's family lives.
Amelia loves to "read" books in the car - she knows her letters and will read those out loud, so hopefully within the next year she will actually be able to read the words!

This was her first time reading an "Amelia Bedelia" book .... she thought the pictures were pretty interesting.
Books in the car are great, because she does not seem to get car-sick, and she can spend hours flipping through books!
Thursday 6/9
This was Mommy's birthday!!
We had breakfast and presents in the morning, and then Amelia played around outside for a bit:
Then Mommy and Daddy left for a little weekend trip, and Amelia stayed with Grandma.
We went first to the local casino, just because I'd always been curious about it. We blew through $10 in about 30 minutes and felt like we'd done enough damage in the slots.
We didn't know you can't take pictures in a casino (we've each only been once, quite a while ago), so we got chastised right after this one was taken:
We drove to Saugatuck, along Lake Michigan. It was rather chilly the whole time we were there, but still enjoyed looking at the water!
Absolutely beautiful beaches and water...
Then, we walked around Saugatuck a bit, before going back to take a little nap at the B&B. We finished the day with a nice birthday dinner out!
Back at Grandma's, she and Amelia had some adventures together.
First, they did a little shopping, because we packed for warmer weather.
Then, they went to a baseball game with their friend Liz!
Amelia enjoyed the game, and likes the playground at the ballpark, too.
Friday 6/10
First, we drove up to Holland to see the beaches up there and the lighthouse:
And the cute little windmills:
Then we headed back to Saugatuck to walk around the town a little more. They were hosting a film festival that weekend, and we checked out a movie in the afternoon. We finished the day with dinner and shopping in Douglas.
Meanwhile, back at Grandma's....
It was the weekend of the big cereal festival in town, so on Friday night, they went to the cereal parade:
Kellogg's!
Patriotic girl!
And then they found a park downtown:
It was a great few days for everyone!
