Day 6 - Wood craft for Amelia; Sippy cup for Luca:

Day 7 - Bath paints for both!

Silly Luca's crazy dance moves:

Day 8 - Candy cane and Hello Kitty socks for Amelia; Little wind-up toy for Luca:

Friday was our first real snow of the season.

I did what any working mom would do...throw on some warm stuff and send the kids out for 10 minutes, so I could have Luca's first snow experience (before sending them to the Sitter)!

They had a great time out there!

This afternoon, we threw the kids in the car to go to Grandpa Larry's for a few days.  It was a LONG drive, thanks to the snow storm, and this little beauty fell asleep:

Day 9 - Amelia was DEVASTATED because her stocking gift didn't fit:

See that face??  She thought she didn't get anything:

Hello Kitty bath set for Amelia (this year definitely had a theme!); Animal crackers for Luca

Luca's morning chore - helping Daddy with pancake-making!

Book time with Grandpa!

This weekend we took the opportunity of being around the corner from a mall to get Amelia's ears pierced.  She decided about a week before that she was ready, so it was perfect timing to do it as a Christmas gift!

One last shot of whole, perfect ear lobes:

Piercing girl marking the spot:

Ready to go!

Double-teamed, so it can be done quickly:

Her reaction:

About 30 seconds of teary eyes, and she was done!  She took it so well and is SO proud of them.  She tells everyone that I was right, that it only hurts for a minute.

This time at my dad's house was particularly unusual.  Grandpa Byron was in the hospital, so my dad and myself spent a lot of time at the hospital.

Chris and the kids would come visit, too.

They loved looking out the big windows:

We'd planned Grandma Hilda's 90th birthday dinner long in advance, and she still wanted to have it.  So the kids got all dressed up, in her honor:

Day 10 - Little Hello Kitty toy for Amelia; Toddler granola bars for Luca:

Snack time and cartoons with Daddy, while Mommy was at the hospital:

We met back up later to go downtown with the kids.

Checking out a big train display (building it was in was closed, because it was Sunday):

Walking around downtown:

The big tree:

Then we found these beautiful, old Christmas displays:
