We went downtown to meet up with some friends for dinner, but made a pit-stop in Amelia's favorite shop..... the bookstore!
She always runs to the back to the little kids area, and pulls a book down right away.
Saturday 8/28
In the morning, we walked down to the farmers market, and picked out a few selections. We came home and put Amelia down for an early nap, so we could try to have a full day away from home.
First, we went to the Crew soccer game!
We tailgated with friends, and Amelia got to play with her friend, Joey:
She had a great time!

And then we got all geared up to go into the game!

We gave up on the sunny, hot side fairly quickly, and found a nice spot in the shade. Amelia's cheeks were pretty pink, but thankfully that went away and wasn't a sunburn:
When we left there, we went over to where my family lives, and my dad's band was playing a popular annual gig.
Amelia loved the show (stayed for the whole first half):
She entertained the crowd a bit by dancing in the aisle, and yelling "that's my grandpa!" once.
Sunday 8/29
We woke up at my Dad's place, and had a good morning hanging out at the house:
But then it was time to get on our party gear for the rest of the family to come over:
Amelia and one of her favorite buddies -- cousin Monica:
The big reason why we went over for the day was that my brother and his family were in town from Texas, AND my mom's brother was in town from California.

We pumped up a pool, but Amelia was too enthralled with all of the activity around the yard to get into any swimming:
And, of course, bubbles are always enticing:
So she took off her suit and got back in the action:
