Luca was two months old on Wednesday!!

He looks like such a handsome little boy in that picture!
Those pants did not last long in the day. He got his immunization shots about an hour later, and I didn't have the heart to squeeze his sore little legs back into anything quite so structured.
So we went to the pediatrician for his two-month checkup.
Chunky little guy was 12 pounds, 7.5 ounces! That's a 2.5 weight gain in a month! And he's 24 inches long, an increase of 2 inches.
Luca and Daddy had fun together waiting for the doc:

And then he spent some time looking at himself in the mirror, just like his big sister would:
Dr. K checked him over and gave him a clean bill of health. She declared him "perfect" and looking "just like his big sister". She answered some of our questions about his eating and sleeping.
But he did pretty well at it, calming pretty quickly. He was a bit of a monster most of the rest of the day though. He didn't sleep or eat well, and was generally pretty displeased.
So in the past 2 months, Luca has changed a LOT! He's gotten so much bigger, and has grown out of his newborn clothing and diapers. He smiles at us, and makes little baby noises (coo's and squeals). He likes to "play" with a few of his toys and will try to reach out and touch them. He still much prefers to be held, but will allow us to put him in certain spots for short lengths of time.
Luca moved into his own bedroom a couple of weeks ago. He is still swaddled nightly (and for many naps), and is still a pretty unreliable sleeper. Most nights we're up every 2 hours, but he usually goes back to bed once his tummy is full. But Mom and Dad will be happy to be out of this zombie stage eventually! :)
Amelia is the BEST big sister. She loves to clean his spit-up and throw away his diapers (yes, she is odd...). She wants to calm him when he cries and will stick a pacifier or bottle in his mouth (with supervision). She really just looks out for him. Whenever anyone else holds him other than Mommy or Daddy, she is quick to make sure they know that he can't go home with them. She loves her baby brother, even if he wakes her up at night sometimes...... (but she's super good about going back to sleep!).
Luca is a sweet baby. He's not the "chill" baby that I'd hoped for... but he's wonderful nonetheless and we're so blessed to have him!
