Day THREE!
Another early morning... cartoons and cereal in bed:
In front of my very first house - in Westminster, CA:
We're headed to Disneyland!!!
We told Amelia that morning. Her first reaction was very underwhelming. She didn't really understand what a big deal Disneyland is, and all she knew was that she wasn't getting to go to the beach.
We got much better reactions later, but here's us revealing to her in the car that she'd get to dress like a princess all day :)
VIDEO:
Luca checking out the CARS advertisement. He's totally into that movie!
Princess Rapunzel!
We definitely recommend dressing up your kid. Amelia was addressed all day as "Princess" or "Rapunzel" by the employees... it was really sweet!
Heading in!
We walked through the gates and right away we found Cinderella!
Amelia got super nervous, but Cinderella was so sweet to her, and drew her out:
We walked through Main Street and through the castle:
We took Amelia into the Bippity Boppity Boutique. We had an appointment to get Amelia a princess makeover. She flat out refused it. No desire to get her hair and makeup done.
Instead she selected this purse and ring, as well as a Princess autograph & photo book:
Time for some rides!
Excalibur:
Small World -- their favorite:
Really fascinating!
Walking back through Main St:
At this point, we headed across the courtyard to the California Adventure park. We had lunch reservations to make!
This singer was making her move...
Luca's favorite part -- CARS LAND!!
Cars Land was awesome... looked just like the movie!
Waiting for a car ride:
A princess pose:
After a little time in Cars Land, we headed over to look for the restaurant.
Amelia and I ran into the Ariel ride, since the line was short:
Luca trying to toss Daddy into the lake:
Lunch time! Princess lunch at Ariel's Grotto!
First, she met Ariel:
Got her autograph book signed:
We were taken to our seats, and given some great appetizers to munch on:
And suddenly the announcement was made that Ariel's friends had arrived!!
Aurora! (Sleeping Beauty)
Another visit with Cinderella!
Belle!
Snow White!
Lunch was AWESOME!
Checking out a ride together:
Back to Cars Land!
Luca met Mater!
And Lightning McQueen!
New Lightning McQueen:
Luca was getting sleepy, so Amelia and Daddy went on this ride alone:
Luca was not thrilled about that:
Air blowing up her skirt:
Time to leave Cars Land!
We entered Bugs Land, which of course, Amelia loved too.
Luca was falling asleep, so Daddy pushed him around, while Amelia and I rode a bunch of rides.
Success! He napped for about an hour and a half:
Walt Disney & Mickey statue:
After some time in Bugs Land, we headed back over to the main park:
We found Mickey!
Then Luca woke, so Daddy and Luca went on a couple of rides together, while Amelia and I waited in line to meet Rapunzel.
Rapunzel was great -- she said "OH, I heard there was a little girl that looked just like me running around here today! I want to call you... 'Mini Punz'"
And she checked out how long Amelia's hair was...
Adorable pair:
And of course the autograph book:
Next stop was the ears store. Both kids picked a pair that suited their own preferences.
Amelia's had a crown and veil on hers:
Luca's was more like a ball cap and it came with a pair of sunglasses:
Time for a few more rides....
Teacup ride!
Spaceship ride in Tomorrowland!
Then we headed back to Main Street to catch the parade.
Here it comes!
Waving at the characters:
After the parade, we took the train around the park:
Tired for a bit...
And then we took the Monorail to Downtown Disney:
Luca doing his crazy dance, complete with seductive eyes:
We got dinner at Downtown Disney, and then took the Monorail and train back to the main park for our car.
We left Disneyland right around 9:30, in time for the fireworks! We definitely didn't intend to stay that long, but it was a GREAT day!
