Updates

Amelia is truly in a fun age.

She picks up new phrases and cute things all the time.

-- She calls things "silly" or "funny", and it doesn't take much to get that response from her.

-- She says "you're welcome" (in addition to thank you which she learned a long time ago).

-- She is so friendly with everyone, even strangers. If a person gives her something, she almost always says "thank you". She is very rarely shy.

-- She says "sorry" (not every time that she should though).

-- She knows all the names of the kids that she sees on a regular basis.

-- She calls old pictures of herself "baby" or "baby Amelia". I'm not sure that she knows that's her though. :)

-- She helps put her toys away.

-- She says "have it" and it either is a statement (like - here mom, you take this) or a question (can I have that?). You can tell based on her tone.

-- She's putting things together. For example... she knows that something that goes on your head is a "hat" and she knows this thing is a "duck". So she'll put a rubber duck on my head and call it a "duck hat". It's hilarious to see her little brain working.

-- If either parent leaves the room or isn't home when she expects us to be, it's "where'd mommy/daddy go?"

-- She loves to feed the animals and stuffed toys when we're having a tea party.

-- She sings all the time. Usually it's to the tune of "ABC/Twinkle Twinkle", and she'll either sing those two songs or she'll put her own lyrics to the tune. Also, she sings along with this little music player. It's REALLY cute.

-- We're seriously having conversations with her now. She tells us what she wants or doesn't want, we can reason with her about things, and she asks us questions. We just don't always understand her. :)

And the best of all [in my opinion]... because I was so worried that she'd forget her right away...

She knows my mom. She recognizes her in pictures and she says "Namma" and gives her a kiss.
