On Saturday morning, we took it easy around the house and played and such.
After Amelia's nap, we packed her up and went down to the pool at a local Community Center. We decided that since Amelia LOVES to swim, we should get in the habit of taking her more often. Because their daily rates are a little over the top, Chris and I thought that we could trade off in having the fun. This time was his turn.
Amelia modeling her new swim suit (this was right after she found that ducky on the ground - she never let it go):
Heading in with Daddy:
The great thing about this pool is that there is a good amount of it that is safe for her height. Little ones can have a little more independence than they can at most pools. This led to a very confident Amelia! She kept taking off, and Chris would have to chase after her.
She loved this rope you could pull and have water come down on you. She needed a boost though:

Spinning with Daddy:

Paddling and kicking with Daddy:

Amelia has really turned into a little fishy. Her sitter took her swimming last week and said that she'd never seen a child so comfortable in the water. With Daddy, she'd even dip her head under the water on her own.
And oh my -- there is no fear with the jumping in!!

"Weeeee!"

Revisiting the rope/water thing. This time she doesn't think that she needs help:

She wasn't thrilled about the mandatory lifeguard break, but liked snuggling with Daddy:

After the break, this was all she wanted to do.... the slide.

And our big girl needed NO help going up the stairs on her own:

And liked the synchronized sliding with Daddy:

She had a total blast swimming. She's really going to love going back to swim classes this summer!
On Sunday, we went to church in the morning.

I wanted to take a picture in her church outfit before we left, but forgot that she was eating cheese goldfish crackers when I asked her to say "cheese":

I want to know if you were able to pry duckie out of Amelia's hands or did he make the trip to Delaware? Thanks for the pictures of our little mermaid, Amelia, and her daddy.
