After Amelia's morning nap, we spent the morning at the beach in Dewey. This was Amelia's first time in the ocean water. She had absolutely no fear, but after mommy and daddy each got smashed by the waves (dad lost sunglasses, mom got a scratched up leg), we definitely had fear on her behalf! People kept walking by and commenting that their kids were terrified of the waves and such, but she just looked so excited to be there.
We found the safest option to be to sit at the very edge of the water (where only the big ones would make it in) and lift her up when the water came that far. It was the safest in terms of the waves, and she still got to feel the excitement when a big one would come ("whoa!!!").
Snack time on the beach proved to be a difficult endeavor, because it was so hard to keep her sand-free long enough!
After lunch, and an afternoon nap, we spent the evening in Rehoboth Beach, checking out the boardwalk and the shops.
And then I won Amelia a little teddy playing an arcade game on the boardwalk.
After a nice dinner, we headed home.... fully satisfied by our great day.
