Disclaimer: The pictures in the first half of this post (in the pink swim suit) were taken with our video camera, because we had a battery issue with the regular camera. Thus the picture quality is not as good.
On Thursday, we FINALLY figured out a good routine for life at the beach with a toddler (about time, right?!). We decided to go to the beach right after breakfast, come back for a long nap, and then go back to the beach again later. It worked beautifully.
Amelia and Daddy played in the sand like the two buddies that they are. Chris buried his leg and then poked his toes up and wiggled them to make her laugh.
And then they took a break:
And then were back at it again:
I promise, I was there too... I just ended up as the one that would run and grab the camera lot. :)
Amelia loves to drink out of a water bottle, like daddy:
And then she rolled around on her beach ball:
And put her sand bucket on her head:
After a loooong mid-morning nap, we headed to Ed's Chicken and Crabs for a fabulous seafood lunch. It's not the most glamorous place, but the prices are decent and the food is straight-up YUM.
There's a ton of food on that table..... steamed blue crabs, stone and king crab legs, scallops, shrimp, and fried calamari and hushpuppies.
Amelia snacked on mac'n'cheese, but took part in the hammering:
After lunch, we got ready to head back to the beach:
Amelia played in the water again:
And she made a new best friend, a little beagle puppy just about her size:
We finished out the day with a nice dinner out (and banannies!!).
