Eating Updates

Pureed Baby Food:

Carrots - Yes, please!

Peas - Maybe? She tried peas in store-bought baby food and hated it. I will try again with homemade stuff and see how it goes.

Pumpkin - Only when mixed with something else! I *recycled* her 3 pumpkins from Halloween, so we have tons of pureed pumpkin in the freezer. If I mix 2 cubes (1/2 oz each) of pumpkin with 1 cube of butternut squash or sweet potato, she likes it, and it doesn't go to waste.

Bananas - No thanks! She doesn't seem to like the consistency. We've tried maybe 5 times, and will try again maybe in a couple months.

Apples - Yes.... maybe? She seems to like it, but it doesn't totally agree with her. We'll probably just give it to her on and off.

Avocado - We tried this tonight for the first time - just mashed with a spoon. She ate and ate... and then brought it all back up. I think it was a texture thing. We'll try again in a couple days, but this time pureed in the food processor first.

Amelia definitely prefers homemade food, and it seems to agree more with her teeny body.

Amelia also likes bits of food - like 1/3 of a cheerio or a tiny piece of bread. She will gum it down and swallow it. She also will occasionally drink out of a sippy cup. It's not like this is a necessary part of her diet, but she's always fascinated by us when we eat, so it makes her feel like she's part of the fun. :)

She's still taking the Prevacid for reflux. We're now giving it to her in just the pill form (rather than dissolving in water). She holds it on her tongue while it dissolves. We'll re-address the need for this at Amelia's 9-month appointment.
