We had the work Christmas party on Friday night. Amelia hung out with her friend, the babysitter, while Chris and I had a rare night out alone. It was hard to have fun, amidst recent loss, but we found ourselves toasting Gary and talking about him with people who had never met him.
Saturday was a LONG day. We started off with Chris hopping on the Vespa and driving it down to Columbus at 8am.... in the super-cold morning we had. Once he regained feeling in all of his extremities, he declared it to be worth it. It allowed him to join in on two memorial rides, before and after the funeral. Amelia and I joined in from the warmth of our car.
The other scooter "gang" in town joined in on the rides and funeral. They made these banners for all of the scooters, which showed so much generosity and class.
Amelia wore her scooter dress for the funeral, but after, changed into a more casual scooter outfit (Easy Peasey onesie under the sweater). We were nervous about taking a baby to a funeral, but she was SO well behaved. And fellow Peaseys, as well as people that we didn't even know, asked to hold her and love on her. She seemed to comfort a lot of people.
The littlest "Easy Peasey"...

Next, we went to "aunt" Michelle's mother-in-law's house to celebrate Kevin's college graduation (yay Kevin!). Amelia was in her element... being adored by lots of people.
Finally, we finished out the day at a Christmas party hosted by some friends. Amelia got to hang out with her buddy (and future husband) Carrick. They had so much fun together.
FYI -- Amelia LOVES dogs. There was one at each stop we made today, and they made her laugh and laugh.... but that's not a recommendation for a Christmas present!! She loves the kitties at our house (and Penny loves the baby), but she just thinks that dogs are hilarious.
