The first few days at home were a bit of a blur. It helped to have Chris home a lot, and Dona was a ton of help too.
Day 4
We all spent Labor Day at home together. It seemed funny to us that Chris normally has to work on Labor Day, but due to my "labor day" on Friday, he got the day off.

Day 5
On Tuesday, we started to have some concern about Luca's weight, mostly because he wasn't burning his way through diapers at the rate you'd expect.
So we strapped him in to his car seat, and headed to the Pediatrician:
He was not happy:
The Pediatrician was pleased with just about everything in Luca's checkup, except for his weight. He had lost 18 ounces of his birth weight (6oz since discharge from the hospital), which meant about a 15% weight loss. Anything over 10% is concerning.
However, the Pediatrician noted that Luca had a strong, fighting spirit, and that he would bounce back quickly, with a little help. He had us supplement a little bit with formula, and asked us to get another weight check on Friday.
Update: As of Friday, he'd gained 9 ounces back! Halfway back to his birth weight! We were so happy to hear this, and plan to get him checked again at the 2-week point.
Day 6
Luca is a pretty low-key baby -- he sure likes his sleep! He really only gets upset when he is undressed, either for clothing or diaper changes. He is just now starting to demand to be fed on a more regular basis -- up until now we had to impose feedings on him more often than not.
Napping on the couch:
We were going to have visitors the next day, so we thought we should give him a bath. He had not had one since the one a few hours after birth.
He wasn't a fan of it at all:
But he calmed down as soon as Daddy started warming him up:
I love this picture -- Luca was fussing and Chris was making a face in response:
